Short Bio
Daniel Seamus Mulrine was born on August 5th, 1986 and raised in Easton, PA. He was raised by two incredible, loving parents - Sean and Jean - who both worked incredibly hard to provide a safe and supportive childhood for him and his supremely talented siblings, Megan and Conor.
A young Dan grew up with a passion for fantasy and science fiction that outweighed whatever passion he could muster for most of the real world. Whether it was Magic: the Gathering, the Final Fantasy video games, or the works of Stephen King and H.P. Lovecraft, he always looked forward to his escapism.
Back in reality at Easton Area High School, Dan was an exceptional math student and a less exceptional baseball player. Baseball is a love in his life that refuses to quit, as he still plays in old timers’ leagues for those who won’t let go. Through thick and (lots of) thin, he is a diehard Seattle Mariners fan.
His mathematical acumen led him to study Statistics at the University of South Carolina, where the rebranded Danny convinced himself that a career as an actuary was the most sensible path for his life, and that his love of writing was doomed to be nothing more than a hobby.
It is hard to say that he fully regrets working fifteen plus years of soul crushing desk jobs, as they provided him with a foundation to build a life and a family. He currently works at a fantastic healthcare system in Pennsylvania, and his current desk job is thankfully far more rewarding than other stops in his career.
But through it all, the desire to create stories and write novels was always something he wanted to return to. And finally, in the little free time that exists after the kids go to bed, Daniel (authors using their full birth name are more venerated) has finally made it happen.
The core of his life is his family and they come first and foremost in everything he does. He is the dad to four amazing daughters – Evie, Lilly, Juliet, and Jodie. His wife Katie is his rock and his foundation, without whom none of what he does could be possible. He loves her and his kids with every fiber of his being.
